I wish I wouldn't be so sensitive to compliments (Aww, shucks, you don't really mean that, what do you want from me, denigrating remark about myself...I wish I knew how to take a compliment.) and people raising their voice at me (Trying to stop myself from crying, and sometimes failing. It's so STUPID)
These two things make my mood flip most, I guess.

So there was this amazing fundraising effort by KoLers including the auction for aces44...
Remember the sundries?
This morning I got cruelly awakened by someone throwing a box (BOX!) at me. It was filled with delicious sundries! And a shirt! And now I'm all happy and excited and can just about stop myself from writing these long run-on sentences with large amounts of exclamation marks at the end!!!!!...Oh look what I've done now.

In the meantime:
- I am a shirt-bearing rabid* ADH fan now!
- OMG MEAT STICKER!
- I always thought radio button candies were those fizzy ones that came in a roll...
- So much snack food!
- Socks. Those socks are beyond awesome. I will explain why in more pictures...
- More to follow. Cadbury's creme eggs nom nom. Must...stop...self...from...eating...before...tonight...

*I'm not really rabid. Please don't put me down. If I foam at the mouth it's from the tooth-brushing after eating all that snack food...

3:24 am - Tomorrow...

Tomorrow I'm actually gonna talk to people about what they want. This is 1) ridiculously proactive and out of character for me and 2) probably all going to end in tears. Metaphorically speaking.
Anyway, I spent 7 hours (in a row!) working on Cupid today. Good, shiny money soon. Yeah, that should cheer me up. I'm a good capitalist.

8:18 am - UPDATE!

I arrived at the other side of the pond safely - and there was plotting so that I could see Starkmoon again, yay!
Erm, I also managed to do a bloody good show considering I had one hour of sleep. And I got another shift - wednesday night/thursday morning. Should be loads of listeners. Whee!
Maybe there'll even be an RKoL/GKOL collaboration show extravaganza on the 2nd of August, it depends whether Starky gets the A-OKAY.
PS All this energy is lack of sleep. Really.
PPS Trifles should *not* be fuzzy and green. Someone spank BlindingPhil for me.

I am trapped in a room with WoW geeks. This time not even an hour after explaining that talking about WoW game mechanics is amazingly boring to people that don't play WoW.
Anyway (the KoL bits)
Soon, I will have my T-shirt! And sundries.
I managed to convince my housemate to come to Glasgow for the KoL meet, which should be a lot of fun. I'm going there pretty much directly from Italy. I'll only be in Dutchland until the 14th. If anyone who is coming to Glasgow wants Dutch or Italian goodies, let me know, mkay?
Next show Tuesday 3-6PM Eastern. That's 9-12 in the Netherlands, if you folks want to listen.
Anyway (the meatspace bits)
OkCupid owes me about 1360 dollars, which I'm hoping to get before the 14th. I've got a whole lot of stuff to translate and change this month, and another creative project which might even get me some money at the end of it.

12:11 am - The show strikes back
|
Show number two all done. Things went a lot better this time. I got my contests working too! It just took a lot of effort to explain to Enemy Lasagna (who was sitting there with me) that while I am good at multitasking, talking to me while I am paying attention to /games, trying to download a request and send out a prize at the same time, it's a bad time for small talk. Oh well, my general confoozledness made for good radio. Oh yeah, and I have a DJ page now, even though I am not on the schedule yet.

7:52 pm - Oh my...

So here's how the meet went down.
Thursday
Picked up Enemy Lasagna from the station together with Danny (my housemate). He helped out with the final making of the goodie bags (filled with blank white cards, candy hearts, a letter from King Ralph (but not really), a martini glass (an unsurprising number of these perished during the course of the meet) and a glittery-felt familiar. Went to bed and failed to sleep (because of my first radio show on GKOL).
Friday
Picked up the goodie bags and went to the cafe where we were supposed to meet up. The first KoLer to show apart from me, EL and Danny was someone who I hadn't seen since the LAST Dutch KoL meet, and he hadn't even mentioned he was showing in the first place, so that was a nice surprise. After that, Bodisaniwi, TchakkaZulu and finally WhiteWabbit and FairiesWearboots (whom I had also met last year) trickled in. We played a LOT of Set. Tonks joined us at the restaurant, and MacAristass, who had his paper to finish, arrived at something past twelve. After that I was pretty much dead, so everyone went to their respective hostel/hotel/B&B for the night.
Saturday
The plan was to head for Rockin' Park, but it was pretty rainy so we went to the local gamestore instead, playing Mafia (or Werewolves) and some more games. After that we went to the park where Tchakka went to hug trees and Bodi turned out to have a talent for juggling. Food and drink at the local punk bar followed. We had to hurry to catch the last train and get everyone to their respective sleeping areas.
Sunday
The plan was to go to Amsterdam, but since many of the meet attendants were asking to go to The Hague for Parkpop we went there instead. Met up with ANOTHER juggler (Maltro) and spent some time chilling out on the grass and failing to meet up with other KoLers.
We had food in a Mexican restaurant, once again raced to catch the last trains (some of us failed) and then...sleep. Precious, precious sleep.
The aftermath
I had so many people message/kmail/call me to say they enjoyed the meet! That was pretty unexpected.
